Fortune Magazine Top 100 Best Companies to Work For 2006
Fortune Magazine has published its annual list of the top 100 best companies. What is interesting to us is the latest statistic on telecommuting from these corporate giants. 79 percent of the top 100 currently have employees that telecommute 20 percent or more of their time. Republic Bancorp (number 17 on the list) reports that 60 percent of its employees are regular telecommuters. We see this as a positive trend and a testimonial to the benefits for employer and employee of telecommuting (especially considering that in 1999, only 12 percent of the top 100 offered telecommuting).
